As most of you all know by now, Streetfighters UK pick a charity or organisation every year that is close to both the home and hearts of every member to raise much needed funds for.
This years designated charity is for the homeless. This is an issue that has probably touched most people at one point in their lives either personally or through the experiences of loved ones or friends and relatives. Homelessness doesn't discriminate against anyone and will attack at will without warning, so this year, we have decided as a club to do as much as we can in way of fundraising to hopefully help someone else out who isn't as fortunate as you or i. If you see us out and about at different events during this coming season, why not pop some spare change into one of our buckets and help us to make a difference to someone else. To Kick Off, see what i did there .......... our fantastic 2018 season, Streetfighters UK were invited again to the prestigious Kickback Custom Bike Show, as seen on ITV 4'S The Motorbike Show with Henry Cole.
The crowds were amazing as usual with some awesome displays of unique machinery in the exhibition hall for all to see and not forgetting of course, the phenomenal Two Brothers Racing Stunt Team!. Due to unforeseen circumstances, and i think personally the competition saw our mega entry and all backed away from the awesomeness, the Moulton Charity Pram race was cancelled.
Here the stipulations are simple, get a pram, f*ck it up, pit it back together with shed tech so that it will hold your rider, get four minions to push and your off........... Around a grueling course you will go, making sure you dont push your rider out of the pram before you reach the finish line and all in the name of good sport and charity. Our pram will go back into the shed now for further redesign and come back out again next September to decimate all who stands in its path!. Stay tune for more info on the pram as it develops, although the onset of some shiny Renthal Bars and a set of Dommies could be on its way soon.... Streetfighters UK and its members are always looking for new, and legal ( cough cough Mr Policeman ) ways to test our machines and our balls when it comes to engines and rubber and there is certainly no better way to do that then to join in with the insane nutters that are the Wheelie Boys at Straightliners Events, the best being the Guinness Book Of Records World Wheelie Event. The fastest 1km on one wheel with brass ones the size of the Empire State Building!.
With our own grown Stu Roberts, Alan Halman and Dale Partington entered this year, and of course the members in tow to keep the beer cold and the BBQ hot, made the journey up to Elvington Air Strip in York to test just how far they could push it and then some!. Unfortunately for Dale, someone forgot to mention to his Mrs that it hurts your knees when you fall on them so Dale had to bow out and watch her sit in hospital for a week, but is looking to return the following year. Stu and Alan however, competed with no resistance to opening full throttle and choking on the odd fly that dared to risk entering the flight path of the wheelie and top speed categories alike. Stu certainly flew the flag proud by getting his official ticket " wheelie ok" to prove that one wheel certainly does go faster than two. Getting back to the core value of what this Club stands for, Streetfighters UK have had the privilege of three publications in prestige prints this year, Worldwide Bomber Magazine, Fighters Magazine and Super Street Bike.
This Club always has and always will be around its roots of keeping our scene alive. Whether you have a infinite pocket or your shed built and proud remember is built not bought that stands out and be proud of your machine no matter the mods!. Streetfighters UK would like to send a massive shout out to Dave Manning for taking some awesome shots as usual, Fighters Magazine for the craziness that is, Worldwide Bomber Magazine, for not only there hooligan fueled articles, but for sponsoring the club as well, and to Supper Street Bike for this months post. Every season, Streetfighters United Kingdom put together a proposal from our Charity coordinator, Janet Whitman, to the members at our AGM, as to which worthy cause the club and its members would like to raise money for during the current year.
The 2017 Seasons nomination of St Chads Pre School was passed at our AGM and is a very worthwhile cause to raise money for. St Chads Pre School offers places in the local community of Winsford Cheshire to children from the ages of 2-5 years. They are a Community Enterprise, which means that to keep supporting the local area with education in a very home from home setting, St Chads has to actively raise the funds to do this throughout the year in order to give the community and its young families a place to go. Back in 2014, we did a brief stint of raising money for this lovely group which helped to cover the cost of outdoor play clothing and equipment. This season, we would like to add even more to that and help to raise the much needed funds to keep such a vital place going. Streetfighters United Kingdom will be raising money at the next Artisan Fair in Northwich Cheshire on the 8th July 2017, where we will have a number of the bikes on display for you to look at along with some of our sponsors for you to meet and greet. Please feel free to come along and have pictures taken with these bikes, many are race spec or feature bikes from popular publications. All donations would be greatly received towards such a worthy cause which helps with development of our children and provides a great support network for families too. Dog & Bar Racing has begun with the members of Streetfighters United KIngdom!. This is our own in house club event to those members who have entered into the straight lining events throughout the 2017 season, who are looking to win the elusive prize of a bottle of dog beer and a chocolate bar!
So far Ben, Stu and Bob have completed either Drag Racing Runs or a Wheelie Class event with many more members to come!. Santa Pod was our first host for the Dog & Bar Trophy with East Kirkby coming up next before the widely sort after Elvington Events and Top Speed Tuesday Runs!. We have to put a massive shout out to one of our own Club Officials, Stu Roberts, who won his class on the last round of the UK Wheelie Championship and brought home a cracking looking trophy too, well done Stu! April brought about not only the beginning to our riding season here at Streetfighters United Kingdom, but the first of one of our major events in the season, Kickback Custom Motorcycle Show held at Stoneleigh Park.
This event out of all of the ones that we attend, attracts so many talented builders and companies all in one arena. The standard and diversity of work that goes on display here is second to none. We take roughly 10 bikes to display over the weekend which is fueled by great food, fun, beer and most of all, the Two Brothers Stunt Team, Vandal and Toddy, and not to forget the wonderful Trina!. Not one to be missed on the calendar of events throughout the UK, kickback Customs is one show you will always see the club at. World Wide Bomber Magazine. With the club taking on a more diverse and wide spread membership, Streetfighters Cheshire Mcc has now been reborn into the fantastic club that is Streetfighters United Kingdom. We are still the same great guys looking to change the current stale modification scene and take this to the bike building forefront along with straight lining championships and the coveted 1km wheelie record.
Follow the club and its members on a none stop nitrous injected, full throttle pinned back and neck snapping speed as both the builds progress and the competitions begin. Several of the members this year are competing in both the Straight Lining Events and the World Wheelie Record taking place at Elvington Airfield this season. Memberships are still limited within the Club and you will need to approach a Club Official to state your interest in being a part of the number one club for modified bikes. With Ride Outs, Events, Charity Work and a lot of hooning about, this years Season is packed to the brim and we look forward to meeting as many of you along the way as possible. |
