The 2015 Season Members Charity choice is the Joshua Tree. An excellent and well run organisation founded by Lynda Hill and her family in name of her son Joshua who has lived and recovered from the experience that is Child hood cancer, a word which no one wants to hear, especially connected to a child.
Lynda and her team are currently working on the Dig Deep campaign to complete the footings for work to begin on a respite and holiday center for those directly affected by this horrible illness and their family. Streetfighters Cheshire Mcc are currently fund raising to help towards the amazing team behind the charity in order to help complete the works aimed for over the past ten years and to make a dream become a reality. On April 25th, the Club was invited to attend the 9th annual Family Fun Run day at Marbury Park in Northwich. The day was a fantastic success for the Charity in raising some much needed funds and the weather held off its rain for the sun to come out. On the 30th April last week, we invited the Charity organizers along to given a presentation to our members on how their work has benefited the local community and both sufferers and survivors alike. This brought home a very personal and emotional touch for the evening with many members raring to go on their own projects, so watch this space for Sky Dives and more.......... We are currently selling T-Shirts on our website in aid of the Joshua Tree with all proceeds going directly to the charity. Please use this link to purchase one http://www.streetfighterscheshire.co.uk/club-merchandise.html Where ever you see the club this year, we will have our collection buckets out and ready at the stand and if you pass by, please feel free to donate a little that will go a long way into changing a child's future. |
